State Police Special Victims Unit Investigations Lead to Multiple Arrest in New Orleans and Baton Rouge
New Orleans – On April 1^st, The Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (New Orleans Field Office) received a request for assistance from an outside agency in reference to Computer-Aided Solicitation of a 14-year-old. The investigation led to 18-year-old Kobe Aguillard of New Orleans who solicited a 14-year-old female, requesting child sex abuse images and videos. On April 7^th, after a complete and thorough investigation, investigators initiated a search warrant for Aguillard’s residence which yielded evidence of lewd videos of a 14-year-old as well as additional child sexual abuse material involving additional potentially underage females. Aguillard was arrested and transported to the Orleans Justice Center on charges of Child Pornography and Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor.

Baton Rouge – On March 17, 2021, The Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (Baton Rouge Field Office) along with FBI Baton Rouge Field Office initiated a covert investigation regarding online solicitation/sexual exploitation of a minor. The investigation revealed 34-year-old Benjamin Faulkner of Denham Springs to have engaged in sexually explicit conversations with undercover investigators who he assumed to be a 13-year-old female. On April 7^th, Faulkner was arrested and transported Livingston Parish Prison on charges of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile, and Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor.

Baton Rouge – On March 17^th, The Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (Baton Rouge Field Office) intercepted a computer while conducting an investigation containing approximately 40 videos of child sexual abuse material. Investigators identified the subscriber of the internet account which resulted in a search warrant for the residence of 39-year-old Joshua Chandler of Baton Rouge. As a result of the search warrant, Chandler was arrested and transported to East Baton Rouge Parish Jail for 200 counts of Possession of Child Pornography and 1 count of Distribution of Child Pornography.

The LSP Special Victims Unit works to rescue and seek justice for the victims of crimes involving the exploitation of children and the trafficking of humans for sex or labor. The public plays an important role in identifying suspects accused of these crimes, and is urged to report criminal or suspicious activity.
