Pedestrian Killed in Ouachita Parish Crash West Monroe – Last night, shortly after 8:10 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on LA Hwy 557 just south of LA Hwy 34. This crash claimed the life of a man that was walking in the roadway. The initial investigation revealed a 2009 GMC Sierra, driven by 36-year-old Stephen Snyder of West Monroe, was traveling southbound on LA Hwy 557. For reasons still under investigation, a pedestrian, 41-year-old David Touchet of West Monroe, was walking north in the southbound lane of travel. Snyder was unable to take evasive action and struck Touchet. Touchet was pronounced dead at the scene. Toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted for analysis. Snyder was not injured during the crash. | |||
