Motorcyclist Killed in Calcasieu Parish Crash Sulphur – On December 31, 2021, shortly before 5:30 p.m., Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop D responded to a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle at the intersection of LA Hwy 27 and High Hope Road in Calcasieu Parish. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 73-year-old Ronald F. Dupuis of Dequincy. The initial investigation revealed a 2005 Ford SUV, driven by 69-year-old Johnny D. Wright of Greenville Ohio, was traveling west on High Hope Road. At the same time, a 2001 Honda motorcycle, being operated by Dupuis, was traveling north on LA 27 and approaching the intersection of High Hope Road. Wright failed to yield at a posted stop sign and traveled into the intersection. Upon entering the intersection, the Ford was struck by the motorcycle.
