Pierre Part – On December 10, 2025, shortly after 6:00 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C began investigating a two-vehicle serious injury crash on Louisiana Highway 70 near Leonie Street in Assumption Parish. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 43-year-old Blake Landry of Pierre Part.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Landry was driving a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado east on LA Hwy 70. At the same time, a 2004 International box truck was traveling west. For reasons still under investigation, the International crossed the centerline and struck the Silverado head-on.
Landry, who was properly restrained at the time of the crash, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died. The driver of the International, whose restraint use is still being determined, sustained serious injuries and was transported to an out-of-area hospital for treatment.
A standard toxicology sample was collected from both drivers and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
