Calcasieu Parish – Yesterday, the Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division Lake Charles Field Office (CID–LCFO) and the Criminal Intelligence Unit, in collaboration with the Calcasieu Parish Combined Anti-Drug Task Force, initiated an investigation involving 48-year-old Brent Touchet of Lake Charles, a known narcotics trafficker operating in Calcasieu Parish. As part of the investigation, Detectives observed Touchet leaving a Lake Charles area hotel, accompanied by 45-year-old Jessica Robinson of Lake Charles and 41-year-old Josh Reeves of Sulphur. Troopers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle driven by Reeves for observed traffic violations. During the stop, Troopers observed indicators of potential criminal activity, leading to a probable cause search of the vehicle. The search resulted in the arrest of Touchet for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Reeves was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Robinson was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, among other charges. The vehicle operated by Reeves was later determined to be stolen. Based on information obtained throughout the day, Detectives were aware that Touchet had left another vehicle unattended at a local casino. CID-LCFO personnel obtained and executed search warrants for both the hotel room occupied by Touchet and Robinson, as well as the vehicle left at the casino. During the search of the vehicle located at the casino, Detectives discovered over 85 pounds of methamphetamine and a handgun concealed in the trunk. Touchet, Reeves, and Robinson were transported to the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center and processed. This investigation remains active and ongoing.
