TROOP A NEWS RELEASE Troopers Investigating Multiple Fatal Crashes in East Feliciana and Ascension Parishes East Feliciana Parish – Shortly after 11:00 p.m. on October 4, 2025, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A responded to a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 61 south of LA 964 in Jackson. The crash claimed the life of 35-year-old Sentoria Roundtree of St. Francisville. Roundtree, the front seat passenger of the Toyota, was unrestrained, sustained fatal injuries, and was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver of the Toyota was also unrestrained, sustained serious injuries, and was transported to a local hospital. Impairment is an unknown factor in this crash; however, routine toxicology samples were obtained for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. Ascension Parish – Shortly after 2:30 a.m. on October 5, 2025, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a two-vehicle crash on I-10 eastbound near milepost 175 in Prairieville. The crash claimed the life of 23-year-old Jesse Diaz of Denham Springs. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Diaz, was traveling east on Interstate 10 in the left lane. For reasons still under investigation, the Hyundai stopped in the left lane, and Diaz exited the vehicle and was standing nearby. Shortly after, a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling east on I-10 in the left lane and struck the rear of the Hyundai, and then struck Diaz. Diaz sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver and passenger of the Equinox were unrestrained, sustained moderate injuries, and were transported to a local hospital. Impairment is unknown; however, standard toxicology samples were taken and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. Troopers wish to remind motorists to always make responsible choices when driving: avoid impairment, fatigue, and distractions.
