1974 2025-08-13 Troop NOLA NOPD Officer Arrested for Prostitution and Malfeasance in Office

New Orleans – Earlier this year, while conducting a separate investigation, the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations – New Orleans Field Office uncovered evidence of criminal activity by a New Orleans Police Department Officer. The investigation led to the arrest of 56-year-old Terrance “TJ” Johnson of New Orleans.

Through investigative means, detectives learned that while Johnson was on duty and assigned to the NOPD 8th District (French Quarter), he coordinated and paid women in exchange for sexual relations on multiple occasions. As a result of the investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Johnson through the Orleans Parish Criminal Court for Prostitution (2 counts), Malfeasance in Office (3 counts), and Injuring Public Records (2 counts).

On August 13, 2025, Johnson turned himself in and was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center. This case remains under investigation.

Anyone with potential information related to this case or other criminal activity is urged to share that information with LSP Detectives. Information can be reported anonymously through the Louisiana State Police online reporting system by visiting File a Report or calling the LSP Fusion Center Hotline at 1-800-434-8007.
