Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A- NEWS RELEASE Single Vehicle Crash Claims Life of Jackson Man BATON ROUGE- On September 23, 2008 at 1:27 p.m., State Police Troop A investigated a single vehicle crash on U.S Hwy 61 north of La Hwy 421 which resulted in the death of a Jackson, LA man. Danielle Summers (B/F, age 25 of Jackson) was traveling northbound on US Hwy 61 in a 1990 Chevrolet Suburban when, for unknown reasons, her vehicle left the roadway to the right. Summers overcorrected her steering, causing her to lose control of the vehicle. The Suburban started to roll over, ejecting Summers from inside. She was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital with moderate injuries. Her passenger, Rudolph Garcia (H/M, age 59 of Jackson) was partially ejected and sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Neither occupant was wearing their seatbelt. Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, but blood was taken from Summers and will be sent to the State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis. For more information contact: Sgt.
