Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A- NEWS RELEASE Jackson Man Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash BATON ROUGE- On Saturday, October 4, 2008 at approximately 10:49 p.m., Louisiana State Police-Troop A responded to a single-vehicle crash on LA Hwy 19 north of Spur Lane which resulted in the death of Jackson, LA man. Tyler Anders (W/M, age 22) was traveling southbound on LA Hwy 19 north of Spur Lane when his 2001 Lexus RX3 left the roadway to the right for unknown reasons. After leaving the roadway, Anders’ vehicle struck a tree and then caught on fire. A Zachary police officer who also responded to the crash was able to remove Anders and another passenger from the vehicle. Andres was pronounced dead at the scene by the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office. The passenger, Jeremiah Willis (W/M, age 22 of St. Francisville), was transported by EMS to Baton Rouge General Medical Center Mid-City with serious injuries. Neither occupant was wearing his seatbelt. Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in this crash at this time; however, blood was taken from the driver and will be submitted to the State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis.
