TROOP A NEWS RELEASE July 6, 2017 I-10 Traffic Stop Leads to Narcotics Seizure and 4 Arrest in West Baton Rouge Parish Port Allen – A Thursday morning traffic stop led to the arrest of four Louisiana men, the seizure of 15,000 dosage units of Xanax, and 9 pounds of high grade marijuana on Interstate 10 in West Baton Rouge Parish. Shortly after 3:00 am on July 6, 2017, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A were patrolling Interstate 10 eastbound east of LA 415. Troopers observed a 2005 Ford Explorer commit a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop. During the course of the traffic stop, Troopers became suspicious of criminal activity. Troopers were given consent to search the vehicle and located 15,000 dosage units of Xanax and 9 pounds of high grade marijuana. The following occupants were arrested and booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish Jail. 20 year old Jacob Guidry of Independence for Improper Lane Usage, Possession with intent to Distribute Schedule I Drugs (Marijuana), and Possession with intent to Distribute Schedule IV Drugs (Xanax). 26 year old Chord Addison of Denham Springs for Possession with intent to Distribute Schedule I Drugs (Marijuana) and Possession with intent to Distribute Schedule IV Drugs (Xanax). 22 year old Allen Bennett of Independence for Possession with intent to Distribute Schedule I Drugs (Marijuana) and Possession with intent to Distribute Schedule IV Drugs (Xanax). 26 year old Kevndrae Roberts of Independence for Possession with intent to Distribute Schedule I Drugs (Marijuana) and Possession with intent to Distribute Schedule IV Drugs (Xanax). Troopers will continue to provide the citizens of Louisiana a safer community through proactive drug related enforcement and cooperative efforts with local and federal law enforcement agencies.
