Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A- NEWS RELEASE New Orleans Native Dies In Crash Shortly after 7:00 AM, today, Louisiana State Police – Troop A began investigating a single vehicle fatal crash. The crash occurred at 2:00 AM this morning on LA Hwy 42 east of LA Hwy 3246 in East Baton Rouge Parish. A Ford Ranger traveled west on LA Hwy 42 and as the road curved to the right the Ford continued straight. The Ford crossed the eastbound lane, entered the ditch and struck a utility pole, causing the driver to be partially ejected. The driver of the Ford, Ellen S. Hinson (Female/Age 19) of New Orleans, LA, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroners Office. Ms. Hinson was wearing a seat belt and alcohol use is pending laboratory results. For more information contact: S/T Johnnie L.
