Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A- NEWS RELEASE Driver Dies At Hospital After Crash At 10:35 AM, today, Louisiana State Police – Troop A began investigating a two-vehicle crash. The crash occurred on LA Hwy 67 south of LA Hwy 959 in East Feliciana Parish. A 2004 Lincoln Aviator traveled north on LA Hwy 67, while a 2003 Cadillac Deville traveled south on LA Hwy 67. The driver of the Cadillac attempted to stop as the Lincoln crossed the centerline and crashed head-on into the Cadillac. The driver of the Cadillac, Simon Jackson (Male/Age 75) of Ethel, LA, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Our Lady of The Lake Hospital by Acadian Ambulance. Mr. Jackson was later pronounced dead by the hospital staff. The driver of the Lincoln, Angela Chenier (Female/Age 36) of Zachary, LA, and three passengers (Female/Age 11, Male/Age 5 and Female/Age 2) sustained minor injuries and were transported by Acadian Ambulance to Lane Regional Medical Center. Seatbelts were used and alcohol is not suspected to be a factor. The charges for Ms. Chenier and the use of child restraints will be released at the conclusion of the investigation.
