Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A- NEWS RELEASE Troop A Conducts Insurance Checkpoint in East Feliciana CLINTON- Louisiana State Police- Troop A conducted an Insurance Check Point today on LA Hwy 67 at LA Hwy 10 in Clinton in conjunction with the Clinton Police Department. A total of eight Notice of Violations were issued to drivers for not having valid proof of insurance, resulting in the seizure of eight license plates. Four other drivers were cited for having no insurance coverage. In addition to the insurance violations, 23 other citations were issued. Troopers issued six violation citations for minor vehicle violations, four vehicle registration or license plate citations, three driver’s license citations, six expired/no motor vehicle inspection sticker citations, one child restraint citations, two seat belt citations and one illegal window tint citation. A total of 212 vehicles passed through the check point in about 2 hours. Troopers will continue to conduct random insurance checkpoints in the Troop A area to ensure motorists are complying with mandatory compulsory insurance and traffic laws.
