Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A - NEWS RELEASE Unrestrained Driver Killed in One-Vehicle Crash in Ascension Parish BATON ROUGE – Shortly before 4:00 a.m. this morning, a 19-year-old Baton Rouge woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash on LA Highway 74 near LA Highway 928 (Bluff Road). Danielle Dempsey (W/F, age 19) of Baton Rouge was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry east on LA 74, approaching Bluff Road when she entered a left-hand curve and exited the roadway to the right. The vehicle began to rotate clockwise, rolled onto the passenger side, and struck a tree. Dempsey was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Alcohol is suspected to have been a factor in this crash. Blood has been taken and submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis. SEAT BELTS SAVE LIVES!!!
