Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A- NEWS RELEASE Unrestrained Driver Killed in One-Vehicle Crash in Livingston Parish BATON ROUGE- On Friday, October 24, 2008 at approximately 6:10 a.m.., Louisiana State Police Troop A investigated a one-vehicle crash on LA 63 north of LA 442 in Livingston Parish which resulted in the death of a Denham Springs resident. Phillip Harrison (W/M, age 22 of Walker) was traveling south on LA 63 in a 2004 Toyota Pickup when he entered into a right-hand curve. The pickup crossed over the northbound lane, exited the road to the left, struck a private driveway, and overturned in the ditch along the side of the road. Harrison, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was partially ejected and trapped under the pickup. He was freed from the vehicle and transported to Ochsner Medical Center in Baton Rouge, where he was later pronounced dead. Alcohol is not suspected to have been a factor in the crash, but blood was taken from Harrison and submitted to the State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis.
