Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A - NEWS RELEASE St. Francisville Man Killed in Collision with Log Truck BATON ROUGE – On Tuesday November 11, 2008 at 4:21a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash on US 61 at LA 3113 in East Baton Rouge Parish. A loaded log truck was traveling south in the right lane of US 61, slowing to turn right onto LA 3113, when it was struck from behind by a Nissan Pickup. The pickup, being driven by Joshua Golman (W/M, age 22) of St. Francisville, struck the logs extending off the back of the log truck. Golman was transported to Lane Memorial Hospital by Baton Rouge EMS Ambulance with serious injuries. He was later pronounced dead by hospital staff. The driver of the log truck, James Floyd (B/M, age 29) of Magee, MS, was not injured as a result of the crash. Although alcohol use was not suspected to be a factor in this crash, Magee submitted to a chemical test for intoxication, with results showing that he had no alcohol in his system and blood was taken from Golman and submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis.
