Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: November 15, 2008 Baton Rouge Resident Killed in Crash on LA 19 in East Feliciana Parish Today, November 15, 2008 at 12:54 AM, Louisiana State Police Troop A investigated a one-vehicle crash that resulted in the death of a Baton Rouge resident. The crash occurred on LA 19, north of LA 955 at milepost 20.3 in East Feliciana Parish. A 1993 Pontiac Bonneville, driven by Ashly Griffin (B/M/Age 28) of Baton Rouge, LA, was traveling southbound on LA 19. For unknown reasons, the Pontiac Bonneville veered off the roadway to the left. Once off the roadway, the vehicle began rotating in a counter-clockwise motion and struck two trees. The driver of the Pontiac Bonneville, Ashly Griffin, of Baton Rouge, LA, was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Michael DeJohn of the East Feliciana Parish Coroner’s Office, due to injuries sustained in the crash. The driver was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. Alcohol usage is unknown in the crash; blood was obtained and will be submitted for analysis.
