| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A- NEWS RELEASE Gonzales Man Killed in Single Vehicle Crash in Livingston Parish BATON ROUGE – On Thursday, November 20, 2008, at approximately 5:00 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop A investigated a one-vehicle crash on LA 42 east of LA 63 in Livingston Parish which resulted in the death of a Gonzales man. John P. Templet (W/M, age 21 of Gonzales) was traveling east on LA 42 in a 2000 Toyota Four-Runner when he entered into a left-hand curve. The vehicle exited the roadway to the right, began to rotate, and overturned. Templet was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected. Templet was pronounced deceased on the scene. Alcohol is not suspected to have been a factor in the crash, but blood was taken from Templet and submitted to the State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis. Troopers will continue to aggressively enforce Louisiana’s seatbelt laws in an effort to keep these horrible tragedies from occurring. The safest place to be when a vehicle overturns is buckled inside the vehicle. SEAT BELTS SAVE LIVES!!! For more information contact: Tpr Russell G.
