| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE State Police, Troop A – News Release For Immediate Release Traffic Stop Results in the Arrest of a Mississippi Resident February 23, 2008 At 2:54 AM, on February 22, 2008, Louisiana State Police, Troop A Criminal Patrol Units stopped a 1999 Acura for a moving violation. The traffic stop occurred on Interstate 12 (eastbound) east of Albany in Livingston Parish. During the traffic stop, troopers began speaking with the driver and passenger of the vehicle. While talking to the pair, troopers received conflicting information and smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the car. Troopers conducted a vehicle search and located more than 20 pounds of marijuana on the back seat. The driver, Barney J. Childress (W/M/Age 24) of Mobile, MS, was booked into the Livingston Parish Jail for Impeding the Flow of Traffic, Illegal Carrying of a Weapon, and Possession with Intent to Distribute (Marijuana).
