Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release December 23rd, 2010 Drug Trafficking Round Up nets Ten Arrests St. Helena- A three month investigation into illegal narcotic trafficking across St. Helena parish came to a culmination yesterday when ten local men were arrested on various drug charges. Louisiana State Police Narcotics Detectives working in partnership with the St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Interdiction Unit began the investigation in October targeting individuals with a history of narcotics violations in the parish. Through the use of extensive surveillance and undercover operations, investigators observed numerous drug transactions throughout the three month period perpetrated by the local men. The arrested individuals include: Whitfield Cryer (B/M age 62) - Distribution of Schedule II CDS (Crack Cocaine) Wright Porter Jr. (B/M age 50) - Distribution of Schedule II CDS (Crack Cocaine) Dondrell Porter (B/M age 27) - Distribution of Schedule II CDS (Crack Cocaine) Michael Love (B/M age 20) - Distribution of Schedule II CDS (Crack Cocaine) Curtis Mumphrey Jr. (B/M age 19) - Distribution of Schedule II CDS (Crack Cocaine); Possession With Intent to Distribute Schedule I (Marijuana) Tarran Love (B/M age 23) - Distribution of Schedule II CDS (Crack Cocaine) Christopher Muse (B/M age 25) - Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS (Marijuana) Christopher Butler (B/M age 30) - Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS (Marijuana) Lake Love Jr. (B/M age 24) - Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS (Marijuana); Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS (Crack Cocaine) Louisiana State Police Narcotics Troopers provide the citizens of Louisiana a safer community through proactive drug related enforcement and cooperative efforts with local and federal law enforcement agencies. Troopers enforce all state and federal laws governing the illicit manufacturing, distribution, sale, and use of drugs targeting local and multi-state drug trafficking organizations. Narcotics Detectives participate in several programs, including the Pharmaceutical Drug Diversion Program, the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) initiative, the Domestic Cannabis Eradication/Suppression Program (DCE/SP), and multi-jurisdictional federal task forces.
