Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release January 20th, 2011 Early Morning Crash takes Life of Mandeville Resident This morning at 05:25am, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a fatality crash at the intersection of LA 21 and LA 1075 in Washington Parish. Troopers’ investigation revealed that the crash occurred as a 2006 GMC Yukon, driven by Andrea Arceneaux (W/F age 44) of Bogalusa, LA, was traveling westbound from her residence on a private drive approaching LA 21. A 2002 Suzuki motorcycle, driven by Shawn Talley (W/M age 36) of Mandeville, LA, was traveling northbound in the left lane of LA 21. As Arceneaux reached the end of her driveway, she proceeded to cross the northbound lanes of LA 21 impacting the Suzuki motorcycle in the left northbound lane. Talley was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was transported to LSU Medical Center in Bogalusa where he later died as a result of his injuries. Alcohol use is not suspected with a blood sample pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. Arceneaux was wearing her seatbelt and was not injured in the crash. She submitted to a breath alcohol test showing no detectable signs of alcohol in her system. Arceneaux was booked into the Washington Parish Jail charged with Failure to Yield from a Private Drive, Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance, and Negligent Homicide.
