| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE State Police, Troop A – News Release For Immediate Release Pedestrian Identified, Troopers Need Help Locating Suspect February 22, 2008 This afternoon, Louisiana State Police, Troop A troopers are looking to the public to locate the driver of the 1989 Dodge pickup truck that struck and killed a Baton Rouge resident. The investigation began yesterday morning as troopers were called about an abandoned vehicle in the driveway of a residence on LA Hwy 408 east of LA Hwy 67 in East Baton Rouge Parish. Late this afternoon, with assistance of the State Police Crime Lab, troopers were able to notify relatives of the pedestrian, Carlena M. Watson (B/F/Age 32) of Baton Rouge, LA, killed in yesterday’s hit-and-run crash. At the same time, State Police detectives were able to obtain information that allowed them to seek an arrest warrant for Ronald Franklin Shearon, Jr. (W/M/Age 32) residing at 15344 Crystal Drive, in Pride, LA. Mr. Shearon is suspected of driving the 1989 Dodge pickup truck that struck Ms. Watson and is wanted for Manslaughter and Hit-and-Run. Mr. Shearon has prior arrests for various crimes and has numerous tattoos on his legs, arms, and neck. Attached is a picture of Mr. Shearon taken in July of 2007.
