Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release December 20th, 2010 Troopers discover Marijuana and 3 Year Old during Traffic Stop Hammond- Following a traffic stop early yesterday morning, troopers arrested three men on charges of Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile. At approximately 08:48 am, troopers assigned to the Louisiana State Police Criminal Patrols Unit stopped a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by Brian Freeman (B/M age 27) of Tupelo, MS, for impeding the flow of traffic on Interstate 12 at milepost 37 in Tangipahoa Parish. Upon interviewing the driver and two adult passengers, Brandon Baker (B/M age 21) of San Antonio, TX and Bradley Goree (B/M age 18) of Verona, MS, troopers noticed discrepancies in the purpose of their trip and signs of nervousness from both men. After obtaining consent to search the vehicle, troopers discovered approximately 1.3 pounds of Marijuana concealed in a storage bin in the cargo area of the vehicle. All three men were placed under arrest and booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail. A three year old male passenger in the vehicle was released into the custody of the Office of Community Services.
