| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE State Police, Troop A – News Release For Immediate Release Driver of Pickup Truck Dies after Striking a Utility Pole February 23, 2008 At 9:18 PM, Friday, February 22, 2008, Louisiana State Police, Troop A began investigating a fatal crash. The crash occurred on LA Hwy 74 west of US Hwy 61 in Ascension Parish. A Toyota Tundra was eastbound on LA Hwy 74 and entered a curve to the right. While traveling through the curve, the Toyota Tundra began exiting the roadway to the right. In an attempt to re-enter the roadway, the driver steered to the left and the Toyota responded by rotating to the left, as it crossed the roadway. The pickup truck then traveled off the left side of the road, went airborne, struck a utility pole, and came to rest on its roof. The driver, Andrew Little (W/M/Age 51) of St. Amant, LA, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ascension Parish Coroners Office. Mr. Little was wearing a seatbelt and blood was drawn to determine whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in this crash. The lab samples are pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab and have not been released. For more information contact: S/T Johnnie L.
