Bogalusa Man flees from Troopers, arrested on Drug Charges

Bogalusa- Louisiana State Police Narcotics Detectives have charged Curtis Brister (B/M age 42) of Bogalusa, LA with several drug charges and resisting arrest after a routine probation visit.

On December 7th, 2010, Troopers working in the Bureau of Investigations Narcotics Unit were contacted by Louisiana Probation and Parole Agents requesting assistance with a probation inspection on Brister at his Bogalusa residence. Brister, already on parole for Distribution of Cocaine, immediately fled on foot upon the arrival of troopers and began discarding items from his pockets while trying to elude authorities. After a brief foot pursuit, troopers placed Brister into custody and recovered 1.6 grams of Crack Cocaine, 1.2 grams of Marijuana, 5.1 grams of Heroin, and 1.2 grams of synthetic Marijuana thrown by Brister during the pursuit. A search of the residence by Probation and Parole Agents resulted in the further seizure of 175 dosage units of Alprozolam (Xanax). Brister was booked into the Washington Parish Jail without incident.
