FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE At 6:18 AM, today, State Police, Troop A began investigating a two vehicle crash that resulted in fatality. The crash occurred on LA Hwy 42 east of LA Hwy 16 in Livingston Parish. A 2007 Kia Spectra was eastbound on LA Hwy 42 traveling through a curve to the right. The Kia Spectra crossed the center line into the westbound lane of travel. At the same time, a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling westbound on LA Hwy 42 entering the same curve. The Kia Spectra (traveling east in the westbound lane) crashed head-on into the Chevrolet pickup truck. The driver of Kia Spectra, Chasady G. Madison (W/F/Age 28) of French Settlement, LA, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Livingston Parish Coroners’ Office. The driver of Chevrolet pickup truck, Wayne J. Charrier (W/M/Age 55) of Folsom, LA, was transported by Acadian AirMed to Our Lady of The Lake Hospital in serious condition.
