Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release March 29, 2011 Early Morning Crash takes Life of Slidell Woman Bush, LA – This morning at 06:20am, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a two vehicle fatality crash at the intersection of LA 41 and LA 40 in St. Tammany Parish. Preliminary investigation revealed that the crash occurred as a 2002 Peterbuilt 18 wheeler was stopped in the northbound lane of LA 41 at its intersection with LA 40. As the 18 wheeler remained stopped at the intersection, it was rear ended by a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica traveling northbound at a high rate of speed. Driver of the Peterbuilt, Jana Sanasac (W/F age 45) of Pass Christian, MS, was wearing a seatbelt and received no injuries in the crash. Sanasac submitted to a breath alcohol test showing no detectable signs of alcohol in her system. The driver of the Chrysler Pacifica, Christina Maddalozzo (W/F age 27) of Slidell, LA, was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office. Maddalozzo was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Alcohol and/or drug use is unknown at this time with a toxicology test pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab.
