FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE At 10:43 PM, on Saturday, December 29, 2007, Louisiana State Police, Troop A responded to a one vehicle crash with injuries. The crash occurred on LA Hwy 66 south of LA Hwy 968 in West Feliciana Parish. A 2007 Toyota Tacoma was southbound on LA Hwy 66 south of LA Hwy 968. The driver observed another vehicle traveling towards his vehicle and steered to the right. In steering to the right, the Toyota Tacoma traveled off the right side of the roadway. After exiting the road, the Toyota traveled beyond the shoulder, through a ditch, through a fence, and struck a tree prior to coming to rest. Both the driver, Michael Hains (W/M/Age 18), and the passenger, Caroline E. Wethey (W/F/) of St. Francisville, LA, sustained moderate injuries and were transported to Lane Memorial Regional Hospital by West Feliciana EMS. Both occupants were wearing their seatbelt, alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in this crash, and there are no charges. Contact Trooper Johnnie Brown if there are any questions.
