Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release February 16th, 2011 Troopers investigate Head-On Crash on LA 1077 Goodbee, LA – This morning shortly before 6:00 am, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a two vehicle head-on collision on LA 1077 north of LA 1085 in St. Tammany Parish. Preliminary investigation revealed that the crash occurred as a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer was traveling north on LA 1077. For unknown reasons, the Blazer drifted left across the centerline of the roadway and began to travel northbound in the southbound lane of travel. As the Blazer continued into oncoming traffic, it impacted a 2005 Lincoln Navigator traveling southbound on LA 1077. The driver of the Chevrolet Blazer, Keith Thompson (W/M age 20) of Folsom, LA, was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported to St. Tammany Parish Hospital with life threatening injuries. Driver impairment is suspected to be a factor in the crash with a toxicology test pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. Charges are pending. The driver of the Lincoln Navigator, Carolyn Woessner (W/F age 64) of Covington, LA, received serious injuries in the crash and was transported to Lakeview Hospital. Woessner was wearing a seatbelt at the time crash and impairment is not suspected.
