Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release November 4th, 2010 Troopers partner with the Covington Food Bank and Mandeville Samaritan Center to help Local Families On Friday, November 12th and Saturday, November 13th, Troopers will participate in a food drive sponsored by the Louisiana State Troopers Association to benefit area families in need throughout the holiday season. With economic hardships increasing each day, an alarming number of families are dealing with financial difficulties and forced to sacrifice meals in order make ends meet. By donating canned goods to these families, community members can do their part to make the holiday season enjoyable for everyone. Please bring your donated items to Louisiana State Police Troop L on Friday, November 12th and Saturday, November 13th between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. On Friday donations can be dropped off in the lobby and on Saturday volunteers will unload the donations from vehicles. Suggested donations are: Canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, canned white potatoes, canned sweet potatoes, cooking oil, Jello, Jiffy mix, canned tuna or chicken, broth , turkey gravy, stuffing mix, cake mix, cake icing, flour, sugar, spaghetti sauce, pasta, rice, peanut butter, jelly, cereal, and oatmeal or grits.
