Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release May 30th, 2010 One Vehicle Crash takes Life of Amite Resident St. Helena Parish – Yesterday at 06:00 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a one vehicle fatality crash on LA 43 north of Greensburg at milepost #38 in St. Helena Parish. The crash occurred as Jeannice Davis, (B/F age 29) of Amite, LA, was traveling north on LA 43 in a 2000 Plymouth Voyager. While traveling northbound, Davis failed to maneuver a left curve in the roadway and ran off road to the right. Upon leaving the paved roadway, the Voyager entered the tree line and struck a large tree with its front end. Davis was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Helena Parish Coroner’s Office. Alcohol use is not suspected to be a factor in the crash with a blood test pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab.
