Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release April 18th, 2010 Bogalusa Resident seriously injured in Hit and Run Crash Bogalusa – Yesterday at 8:20 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a serious injury hit and run crash on LA 21 south of Bogalusa at milepost #34 in Washington Parish. The crash occurred as Larry Boley (B/M age 48) of Bogalusa, LA was riding his bicycle in the northbound lane of LA 21. As Boley proceeded northbound, he was impacted from behind by an unknown white Ford SUV. After impact, both Boley and the bicycle were thrown approximately 100 feet north, coming to rest at the intersection of LA 21 and Pearl Lane. The white Ford SUV fled the scene and continued north on LA 21. Boley sustained severe injuries in the crash and was transported to University Medical Center in New Orleans in serious condition. Alcohol use is suspected by Boley with a toxicology test pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. Based on witness statements and evidence collected at the scene, Troopers are searching for a white Ford SUV with damage to its front end.
