Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release May 6th, 2010 Troopers investigate Head-on Crash in Washington Parish Washington Parish – Today at 12:40 am, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a two vehicle fatality crash on LA 21 south of Angie at milepost #48 in Washington Parish. A 2007 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Teresa Turnage (W/F age 40) of Foxworth, MS, was traveling north on LA 21. A 2001 Western Star 18 wheeler, driven by Christopher Foster (W/M age 19) of Sandy Hook, MS, was traveling south on LA 21. For unknown reasons, the Nissan traveled over the center line and into the southbound lane of travel causing a head-on collision with the 18 wheeler. After impact, the Western Star 18 wheeler rotated counterclockwise and overturned onto its passenger side blocking both lanes of LA 21. Turnage was pronounced dead at the scene by the Washington Parish Coroner’s Office. Alcohol use is unknown at this time with a toxicology test pending by the Coroner’s Office. Turnage was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Both Foster and front seat passenger, Jolena Foster (W/F age 19), were wearing seatbelts and were transported to the LSU Medical Center in Bogalusa for minor injuries. Foster submitted to a breath alcohol test registering a .000g% BAC.
