FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE At 5:41 PM, on Tuesday, January 15, 2008, State Police, Troop A began investigating a two vehicle fatal crash. The crash occurred on LA Hwy 42 west of LA Hwy 431 in Ascension Parish. Two vehicles, a 2001 Dodge Ram truck followed by a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle, were traveling eastbound on LA Hwy 42 west of LA Hwy 431. The Dodge Ram stopped as a result of traffic and the Suzuki motorcycle crashed into the rear of the Dodge Ram. As a result of the collision, the driver of the motorcycle was ejected. The driver of the motorcycle, Daniel Raiford (W/M/Age 25) of Denham Springs, LA, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the crash scene by the Ascension Parish Coroners Office. The driver of the Dodge Ram, Donald Robbins (W/M/Age 54) of Amite, LA, was not injured and did not require medical attention at the scene.
