Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release May 5th, 2010 One Vehicle Crash takes Life of Gulfport Man Slidell – Today at 02:24 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a one vehicle fatality crash at the Interstate 10, 12, and 59 junction in St. Tammany Parish. The crash occurred as Willie J. Kelly, (B/M age 51) of Gulfport, MS, proceeded westbound on Interstate 10 in a 2004 Dodge Durango. As Kelly approached the interstate junction, his vehicle, for unknown reasons, drifted off the roadway to the right striking two trees with its front end. Kelly was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office. Alcohol use is not suspected, however, a toxicology test is pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. Kelly was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
