Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release June 30th, 2010 Troopers partner with National Guard to stop Marijuana Cultivation Kentwood, LA– As part of a continuing effort to stop the cultivation and trafficking of Marijuana throughout our community, Louisiana State Police Narcotic Detectives have teamed up with the LA National Guard to target individuals growing Marijuana. On June 28, 2010, LSP Narcotic Detectives began a three day detail with National Guard personnel. Through the use of air surveillance, detectives located Marijuana plants growing near a residence in Kentwood, LA. The owner of the residence was identified as 62 year old Kenneth Miller. Upon speaking with investigators, Miller consented to the search of his property leading detectives to discover a total of 71 Marijuana plants and 180 grams of processed Marijuana in Miller's residence. Miller was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail for Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana and Cultivation of Marijuana.
