Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release September 12th, 2010 One Vehicle Crash takes Life of Mississippi Man Slidell – Today at 02:05 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a one vehicle fatality crash on Interstate 12 east of the Airport Road / Northshore Blvd. exit in St. Tammany Parish. The crash occurred as Daniel B. Walley, (W/M age 26) of Flora, MS, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 12 in a 1995 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck. For unknown reasons, as Walley proceeded eastbound, he swerved several times across the right and left eastbound lanes of Interstate 12 before running off road to the right side of the interstate. As the Chevrolet pickup left the paved roadway, it rotated in a counterclockwise direction and stuck a tree with its left driver’s side. Walley was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was transported to the Ochsner Medical Center in Slidell where he was later pronounced dead as a result of his injuries. Alcohol use is not suspected, however, a toxicology test is pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab.
