FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE At 5:33 PM, on Tuesday, January 15, 2008, State Police, Troop A began investigating a second fatal crash within an hour. The crash occurred on LA Hwy 63 north of US Hwy 190 in Livingston Parish. Two vehicles, a 1994 GMC Sierra pickup truck (northbound) and a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truck (southbound), were traveling on LA Hwy 63 north of US Hwy 190. The GMC Sierra crossed the centerline into the southbound lane of travel and crashed into the Dodge Ram pickup truck head on. The driver of the GMC, Jory N. Thomas (W/M/Age 33) of Livingston, LA, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office. Mr. Thomas’ passenger in the GMC, a juvenile, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. Mr. Thomas was not wearing a seatbelt and troopers suspect alcohol to be a factor (test(s) pending). The driver of the Dodge Ram, Trampas P. H. Severio (W/M/Age 32), and his passenger, a juvenile, both residents of Holden, LA, sustained minor injuries and were transported to Ochsner Hospital. Contact Trooper Johnnie Brown if there are any questions.
