869 2008-01-24 Troop A Juvenile Dies In Two Vehicle Crash


FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

At 8:02 AM, today, State Police began investigating a two vehicle crash that resulted in the death of a juvenile. The crash occurred on LA Hwy 30 west of LA Hwy 327-Spur in East Baton Rouge Parish.

A Chevrolet Lumina was eastbound on LA Hwy 30 and proceeded to pass a vehicle (in a no passing zone). In doing so, the Lumina crashed into a westbound Ford Windstar. There were three occupants in the Ford (driver and two juvenile passengers) and one occupant in the Chevrolet. The surviving occupants in both vehicles were transported to Our Lady of The Lake Hospital.

The driver of the Ford Windstar, Mi Bark (O/F/Age 44) of Baton Rouge, LA, and the passenger seat behind the driver, a juvenile, sustained serious injuries. The passenger seated on the second row (in the middle) of the Windstar, Eun-Woo Nho (juvenile) of Baton Rouge, LA, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroners’ Office. The driver of the Chevrolet Lumina, Kendell Morgan (B/M/Age 21) of Baton Rouge, LA, sustained serious injuries. Mr. Kendell is charged and will be booked (upon release) into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for Negligent Homicide, Negligent Injuring (2 counts), Reckless Operation, Suspended Driver’s License, Expired License Plate, Passing in A No Passing Zone, No Insurance, and No Seatbelt. Alcohol or drugs are not suspected to be a factor in this crash
