FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE At 12:25 AM, on January 26, 2008, Louisiana State Police, Troop A responded to a one vehicle fatal crash. The crash occurred on LA Hwy 10 north of LA Hwy 77 in Pointe Coupee Parish. The fatality is the result of a 1999 Dodge pickup truck traveling southbound on LA Hwy 10. As the Dodge pickup truck passed Cannon Road, it exited the roadway to the left. Once off the road, the Dodge pickup continued traveling south, struck a culvert, and overturned. The driver of the Dodge Pickup truck, Jesse Gustin (W/M/Age 30) of Morganza, LA, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the crash scene. Mr. Gustin was not properly restrained and alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in this crash. Contact Trooper Johnnie Brown if there are any questions.
