Troop L Traffic Advisory and Road Closures

Floodwaters continue to obstruct roadways throughout the Troop L region creating potentially dangerous conditions.

Motorists are urged to refrain from unnecessary travel and be watchful for fallen trees and debris on area roadways.

Due to high water and/or dangerous conditions, the following roads are closed at this time:
    · The Interstate 10 eastbound off ramps to Oak Harbor Blvd. in Slidell
    · The Interstate 55 southbound onramp from U.S. 51 Business
    · U.S. 51 from Manchac to Ponchatoula
    · LA 10 between LA 25 and LA 440
    · LA 40 at LA 1054
    · LA 40 at the Tangipahoa River
    · LA 445 between U.S. 190 and LA 22
    · The westbound lane of LA 440 at the Tangipahoa River
    · U.S. 190 east of LA 445 near the Walmart Distribution Center
    · U.S. 190 between Old Covington Highway and LA 445
    · LA 1077 between LA 1078 and N. Willie Road
    · LA 16 between LA 1072 and LA 1074
    · LA 443 between LA 1064 and Narretto Road
    · LA 437 between LA 40 in St. Tammany Parish to LA 16 to Washington Parish


Road closure signs and barricades have been posted at all locations and citizens are urged to avoid the area if possible. Troop L will continue to monitor the roadways for changing conditions.

All citizens are reminded to monitor the National Weather Service, local radio and television stations, or visit
www.lsp.org to see the latest road closures.

In addition, Troopers are posting regular weather, road conditions, and LSP activities on the LSP Facebook page.

To report stalled vehicles or unsafe roadway conditions, you may dial *LSP (*577) from your cellular phone to reach the State Police office closest to you.
