| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE State Police, Troop A – News Release For Immediate Release Two Vehicle Fatality Remains Under Investigation February 8, 2008 At 10:00 AM, on Friday, February 08, 2008, Louisiana State Police, Troop A began investigating a two vehicle crash that resulted in the death of a St. Francisville resident. The crash occurred on US Hwy 61 south of LA Hwy 66 in West Feliciana Parish. Two vehicles, a 2002 Ford Focus (northbound) and a 2000 Toyota Avalon (southbound), were traveling on US Hwy 61 south of LA Hwy 66. While proceeding through a curve, the two vehicles crashed head-on and began rotating to the right. After rotating, the Ford Focus and the Toyota Avalon came to rest blocking both travel lanes. The driver of the Ford Focus, Ida C. Mooney (W/F/Age 89) of St. Francisville, LA, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the West Feliciana Parish Coroner’s Office. The driver of the Toyota Avalon, Rosa Jackson (B/F/Age 55) of St. Francisville, LA, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by West Feliciana EMS to the West Feliciana Hospital.
