| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE State Police, Troop A – News Release For Immediate Release Truck Crosses Center Line Leaving One Dead (Update) February 10, 2008 At 3:00 AM this morning, Louisiana State Police, Troop A was notified of a two vehicle crash. The crash occurred on US Hwy 190 east of LA Hwy 413 in West Baton Rouge Parish. The collision involved a 1995 Chevrolet Pickup truck (westbound) and a 2003 Suzuki passenger car (eastbound). The Chevrolet crossed the center lines and crashed head-on into the Suzuki. The crash resulted in one fatality and five occupants being transported to area hospitals. The driver of the Suzuki, Steven Collins (B/M/Age 48) of Greenwell Springs, LA, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the West Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office. There were two additional occupants in the Suzuki; Lakeisha L. Thompson (B/F/Age 28) of Lettsworth, LA, and John Doe (B/M), both were transported to local hospitals with serious injuries. Troopers are still in the process of determining the identity of the unknown passenger in the Suzuki. The driver of the Chevrolet, Marcus J. Weber (W/M/Age 22) of Batchelor, LA, and the front seat middle passenger, Donald J. McGehee (W/M/Age 22) of Lettsworth, LA, sustained serious injuries and were transported by Acadian Ambulance to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. The second passenger in the Chevrolet, Benjamin L. Wilkinson (W/M/Age 21) of Batchelor, LA, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by Acadian Ambulance to the Baton Rouge General Hospital. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in this crash and seatbelts were not used by passengers in the Suzuki. For more information contact: S/T Johnnie L.
