Investigation leads to Recovery of Stolen Vehicles |
LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE
Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release May 16th, 2011
Investigation leads to Recovery of Stolen Vehicles Following an investigation into an anonymous tip, Louisiana State Police Auto Theft Detectives have arrested Mark Mayeux (W/M age 35) of Slidell, LA and Jennifer Fuller (W/F age 30) of Hammond, LA on charges of Conspiracy to Commit Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Theft of a Motor Vehicle.
The investigation began in April when an anonymous citizen reported that Mayeux was in possession of a stolen 2006 Chevrolet Corvette fraudulently registered in his name as a 1990 Chevrolet Corvette. Through investigative measures, detectives verified that the Corvette parked at Mayeux’s residence did not have a body style consistent with a 1990 Chevrolet Corvette and subsequently obtained a search warrant for the property. During the search, investigators recovered the stolen 2006 Corvette and additionally discovered a stolen 2003 BMW 525i.
Further investigation revealed that Mayeux had conspired with Fuller to steal the 2006 Corvette from Fuller’s ex-husband. Fuller provided Mayeux the keys to her ex-husband’s Corvette and arranged for him to be gone from his residence in Livingston Parish.
Both Fuller and Mayeux surrendered themselves to LSP detectives on May 16th, 2011 and were booked into the Livingston Parish Jail on the above charges.
The stolen 2003 BMW recovered at Mayeux’s residence was unrelated to the theft of the Corvette. Investigators are continuing their investigation into the stolen BMW with additional charges pending against Mayeux.
