| TROOP L NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release September 1st, 2011 Slidell Contractor arrested for Insurance Fraud Slidell, LA – Following an investigation into alleged insurance fraud, Louisiana State Police Region I Detectives have arrested Scott Peterson (W/M age 58) of Slidell, LA charged with issuing a fraudulent insurance certificate. Troopers’ investigation revealed that Peterson was required to provide proof of general liability coverage on his construction company and workers before receiving a contract to perform work for another contractor. As proof of his insurance, Peterson provided a fraudulent certificate of coverage later discovered to contain altered dates and policy information. Further investigation concluded that Peterson intentionally altered the certificate of insurance to reflect that the coverage was valid in order to obtain the construction contract. On August 29th, 2011, Peterson turned himself into investigators at the St. Tammany Parish Jail and was booked without incident on one count of Insurance Fraud.
