| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE State Police, Troop A – News Release For Immediate Release Missing Teen, Car Found In Black Bayou March 29, 2008 At 9:01 PM, on Friday, March 28, 2008, Louisiana State Police – Troop A began investigating a fatal crash that involved a missing St. Amant teenager. The crash occurred on LA Hwy 935 north of LA Hwy 22 in Ascension Parish. On Saturday, March 22, 2008, Mr. Jody P. Bourgeois and his 1995 Nissan Maxima were reported missing. Six days later as family members retraced the last known movements of Mr. Bourgeois; they discovered what appeared to be the site of a motor vehicle crash on LA Hwy 935. Evidence suggested a vehicle traveled into the Black Bayou. A family member entered the bayou, confirmed a vehicle was in the water and notified the police. State Police – Troop A’s investigation revealed that the 1995 Nissan Maxima traveled south on LA Hwy 935 and entered a curve in the road. The Nissan Maxima traveled off the roadway to the right and began rotating to the left. The vehicle struck several rocks, rolled over and landed upside down in the Black Bayou. Mr. Bourgeois, a nineteen year old male, of St. Amant, LA, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ascension Parish Coroner’s Office.
