Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: October 11, 2008 Slidell Resident Killed in Crash on LA 433 in St. Tammany Parish Today, October 11, 2008 at 12:43 AM, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a one-vehicle crash that resulted in the death of a Slidell resident. The crash occurred on LA 433 at milepost 10.8 in St. Tammany Parish. A 2006 Ford pickup, driven by Richard E. Ladner Jr. (W/M/Age 41) of Slidell, LA, was traveling northbound on LA 433. While exiting out of a curve to the left, the Ford pickup veered to the right and its right side tires exited the roadway and onto the shoulder. The driver then abruptly steered the pickup to the left. The vehicle traveled across the roadway and during this time the Ford pickup was rotating counter-clockwise. It then exited the roadway and entered a ditch. The pickup exited the ditch and struck a tree stump causing the vehicle to overturn. The Ford then traveled across Kimberly Lane, onto private property and came to final rest on its roof. As the vehicle was overturning, the driver was ejected from the vehicle, due to not being restrained by the vehicle’s seat belt. The Ford pickup also impacted a parked vehicle that was located on the private property. The St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Assistant Angel Galloway, due to injuries sustained in the crash, pronounced the driver of the Ford pickup, Richard E. Ladner, of Slidell, LA, dead at the scene of the crash. Alcohol/Drug involvement is unknown at this time; blood was obtained and will be sent out for analysis. The driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
