Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: October 25, 2008 Mandeville Resident Killed in Crash on LA 1085 in St. Tammany Parish Today, October 25, 2008 at 5:00 AM, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a one-vehicle crash that resulted in the death of a Mandeville resident. The crash occurred on LA 1085 at milepost 3.3 in St. Tammany Parish. A 1997 Mazda four door, driven by Angela Sour (W/F/Age 21) of Folsom, LA, was traveling north on LA 1085. For unknown reasons, the Mazda traveled off the roadway to the right, entered into a ditch and struck a culvert. The Mazda traveled approximately 215 feet from the point that the vehicle left the roadway to final rest. The driver of the Mazda Four door, Angela Sour was transported to St. Tammany Hospital by Acadian Ambulance to receive medical treatment for severe injuries. During the investigation, a small amount of marijuana was found on her person. The marijuana was confiscated and submitted into evidence. Drug usage is suspected in the crash; blood and urine was obtained and will be submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. Once released from the hospital, Angela Sour will be charged and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on the following charges, Careless Operation (R.S.32:58), Operating A Vehicle While Intoxicated (R.S.14:98), Possession of Marijuana (R.S.40:966) and Vehicular Homicide (R.S.14:32.1). The passenger, Anne McPherson (W/F/Age 28) of Mandeville, LA, was pronounced dead at the scene by Nick Culotta of the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office, due to injuries sustained in the crash. Both occupants wore seat belts during the crash.
