Profit Slips and Lands in Jail

On Friday, June 6, 2008, Louisiana State Police – Insurance Fraud Unit arrested a Baton Rouge Resident for Insurance Fraud. The arrest is the result of an incident that occurred at the Regal Theater in Baton Rouge, LA.

On April 17, 2007, Mr. Ivory M. Profit (Male/Age 32) of Baton Rouge, LA, completed paperwork indicating that he slipped at the Regal Theater. Mr. Profit was asked to provide documentation by a Liberty Mutual Insurance Company representative. As part of the claim, Mr. Profit verbally communicated to investigators that he missed 28 days of work, (12 hours days) making twenty dollars an hour. When asked to provide information in writing on company letterhead, Mr. Profit provided a document using a fictitious company’s letterhead (Franklin Plumbing Company’s).

Based on the address provided in the official document submitted by Mr. Profit, the company was determined to be Franklin Sewer Company (FSC). Mr. Profit’s relative is the owner of FSC and troopers learned that Mr. Profit worked at FSC occasionally and his wages were ten dollars an hour. Based on the investigation, the 19th Judicial District issued an arrest warrant for Mr. Profit. On June 6, 2008, he was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Jail on charges of Insurance Fraud.
