| NEWS RELEASE Troop L April 5, 2008 At 11:15 PM, on April 4, 2008, Louisiana State Police Troop L investigated a one vehicle crash that resulted in the death of both the driver and passenger. The crash occurred on LA 40 at milepost 22.7 in Tangipahoa Parish. A 1991 Jeep, driven by Seth F. Hoover (W/M/Age 21) of Folsom, LA, was traveling westbound on LA 40. The vehicle traveled off the roadway to the right and began to rotate in a clockwise direction. As the Jeep was rotating, it rolled over onto its left side and impacted a tree with its windshield and roof area. After the initial impact the vehicle struck a second tree before coming to a final rest. The driver of the Jeep, Seth F. Hoover of Folsom, LA, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tangipahoa Parish Coroner’s Office, due to injuries sustained in the crash. Alcohol is suspected in the crash and blood was obtained and will be sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. The passenger, Timothy L. Pierre Jr. (W/M/Age 21) of Amite, LA, was also pronounced dead at the scene by the Tangipahoa Parish Coroner’s Office, due to injuries sustained in the crash.
